CANSARP Problem Reporting Checklist
Please try to address as many of the following questions as possible when describing a bug that causes the program to crash or one that only occurs intermittently.
- What was the last thing you did when the program crashed or the bug occurred or was first noticed?
- What were you trying to do?
- Which program components (managers, editors, windows) were open at the time?
- Which ones were directly involved in the crash/bug?
- How did you access the task that crashed? Via a manager? A menu? A tool bar? The canvas?
- What environmental data had been added to the scenario? CMC winds? Grand Banks? SLDMBs? Subjective winds? Subjective or Measured currents?
- What environmental data options were turned on in the drift forces sidebar?
- What options were turned on in the display options sidebar?
- What was the next to last thing you did before the program crashed or the bug occurred?
- What other things had you done recently? For example, which program components had you used? Had you created a new scenario or new case? Panned or zoomed the view or changed display options? Loaded or discarded environmental data? Alied new targets or performed a drift? Recovered or reloaded or discarded scenario components? Etc. etc. Or had you been idle long enough that the program had autosaved?
- Can you repeat the bug or make it crash again?
The more information of this nature that you can include in your detailed description of the bug, the faster we can reproduce the problem and then fix it. If you're not sure of the answers, give us your best guess.
